Thorpe Acre is on the Millennium map! People living in the area have got together with community organisations, the church and schools to plan a waymarking scheme. There are some smart signposts, and new wildlife areas, decorative art work and things for children. A leaflet and map as well as signs tell the story of Thorpe Acre and the route.
The area has already benefitted from new planting schemes and improvements are being made to our park, Jubilee Park. Charnwood Wildlife are working with us and other local residents to create a wildlife haven and nature walk near Stonebow Bridge.
An exhibition of art work was held on 22nd March.
Five works were chosen and we hope these will be installed in October 1999.
